Kindergarten: Planting Seedlings

This is around the time Maria plants seeds in a cup with the students so it was great to have them out in the garden planting things they will get to eat. These kids sitting here said they have never planted anything before. It was fantastic to be a part of their first planting experience.

Just like the 1st graders, all the kindergarteners got to learn about the elements that make soil good for planting, amended it, planted lettuce and golden pepper seedlings, and sowed radish and carrot seeds.
So grateful for the seedling plugs and seeds that were donated by the John Muir Ranch in Altadena. After I finished watering, the kids got very excited because they believed that the plants got bigger after an hour.
